YBhg. General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hj Affendi joined the Malaysian Armed Forces as an RMAF Officer Cadet in 1980 and received his basic training at the Officer Cadet School, Sebatang Kara, Port Dickson. Based on his knowledge, skill and attitude as well as temerity and maturity, YBhg. General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hj Affendi was posted to No 3 Flying Training Centre in RMAF Kuantan for his initial jet conversion on the MB-339A. From then on, his career as a fighter pilot took off with his subsequent Operational Conversion on the McDonnell Douglas A-4 Skyhawk at No 9 Sqn in October 1984 followed by his first operational tour on the A-4 Skyhawk at No 6 Sqn in June 1985. General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hj Affendi was among the officers selected for the RMAF MiG-29 Project Team in 1994, which later become the MiG-29 RMAF Technical Team in Russia. Throughout his operational flying career, General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Affendi is a force to be reckoned with as a fighter pilot. He was actively involved in various air operations including flying Close Air Support and Battlefield Interdiction missions during the fight against communist insurgency in the late 1980s. The knowledge, skill and attitude gained by General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hj Affendi was further accentuated and enhanced by his experience at various staff and command positions at the tactical, operational and later strategic level. General Tan Sri Dato' Sri Hj Affendi, reached the pinnacle of this career on the 2nd January 2020 when he was appointed to the helm and took over the Malaysia Armed Forces as the 21st Chief of Defences Forces from General Tan Sri Dato' Seri Panglima Hj Zulkifli bin Hj Zainal Abidin.

Lieutenant General Datuk Dr. William Stevenson (Retired) was the Inspector General of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and Chief Executive of the Malaysian Institute of Defence and Security (MIDAS). He was assigned to the Ministry of Finance as Senior Deputy Director of the National Strategy right after retirement. Commissioned to the Royal Engineer Regiment and during his service he has held various command and staff appointments and was involved in various construction projects, counter insurgency operations and joint operations at the Malaysia – Thailand border. Currently he is Chairman of Petra Diversified Systems and Technologies Sdn Bhd, Executive Chairman of SpyForce (M) Sdn Bhd and Advisor to Code 7 Asia Sdn Bhd. He is also an Exco member of the Asia Pacific Security Association (APSA).
Graduated with Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh UK and a Doctorate in Philosophy from University Putra Malaysia. He had also attended the Defence Resources Management program at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, USA and the Senior Executive Program on National and International Security at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA.

Captain Chester Voo Chee Soon was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of CAAM effective on 1st June 2020. Captain Chester Voo started his commercial flying career with Malaysia Airlines in 1993 as a cadet pilot. Over a career of 27 years, he has flown the Boeing 737, Airbus A330 and the Airbus A320. He has accumulated a total of 14500 commercial jet hours on these aircraft. He also served AirAsia Berhad in the last 12 years and has achieved various management roles with the airline. He has served in the capacity of Ground Instructor, Crew Resource Instructor, Type Rated Instructor, Type Rated Examiner, Training Manager, Chief Pilot Operations and finally Director Flight Operations. He is known to be a humble and approachable leader with a keen attention to detail. With this vast experience and acumen, Captain Chester Voo is entrusted with the role to drive CAAM to greater heights while improving the country’s efficiency, safety, and security of civil aviation to a world-class standard.

Neil Hunter has enjoyed successful senior appointments across Europe following a rewarding military career as a senior British Royal Naval officer. He has a wealth of experience in both the Aviation and Maritime domains, particularly the robotics sector. He is the Global Business Director for the Aerospace manufacturer Schiebel, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Prior to this, appointments have included CEO of IRIS Group delivering Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) Managed Services; the CEO of UMS Group in Switzerland, and Head of Business Development at Babcock Aerospace in the UK. In the Royal Navy, he enjoyed significant success as the Commanding Officer of a fully operational warship, and as an Aviator, accruing over 2,000 fixed wing and rotary flying hours, including the award of the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery in the Air.

David Peel has enjoyed successful senior aviation appointments in New Zealand and North Asia following a rewarding 23-year military career as a senior British Royal Air Force officer. He has a wealth of experience in both the Aviation and Personnel Development domains, specialising in the high altitude mountain arena. He is the Asia Sales Director for the Aerospace manufacturer Schiebel, headquartered in Vienna, Austria. Prior to this, appointments have included Chief Pilot and Aviation Examiner for the Bhutan Government, Chief Pilot in Nepal High Altitude Rescue Company, and Chief Pilot of Helicopter Corporation NZ. In the Royal Air Force, he enjoyed success as a passionate specialist in outdoor education and general staff commands. A career change followed to be an Aviator, accruing over 5,500 rotary flying hours, with over 2000 hours of specialist high altitude mountain rescue flying between 12,000 and 23,000’, whilst also being an instructor and approved Civilian Aviation Authority Examiner.

Major Nik Mohd Hazriq is currently serving as Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Operation Officer for Defence Staff Intelligence Division of Malaysia Armed Forces. Starting his career in 2009, he was assigned to several positions including Operation Officer for the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM) and Security officer for Defence Intelligence Staff Division of Malaysian Armed Forces. His vast experience is contributed by his involvement in many special projects such as Tactical and Operational for Unmaned Aerial System (UAS), Tactical and Operational for Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and Cyber Forensics. In addition, he is also OEM certified for several different UAS systems.

Kamarul Muhamed is the Founder and CEO of Aerodyne Group, a Malaysian drone solutions company that is ranked second in the world by Drone Industry Insights of Germany. He was also named by Nikkei Japan as the CEO of top 10 hottest start-up of 2019. Kamarul led Aerodyne from a 3 person start-up in 2014 to global company operating in 35 countries in less than 5 years. He is a TEDx speaker and a drone Industry thought-leader and have presented his ideas and innovation on AI, drones and Industry 4.0 around the world. He is an auditor by training and spent his formative years in the city of London before switching career to tech industry upon his return to Malaysia after spending 10 years in the UK.
