Director General, Malaysian Armed Forces Health Services

YBHG LT GEN DATO' (DR) ABD RAZAK MD YUSOFF
The Malaysian Armed Forces Healt Services is tasked into looking after the healthcare of the service personnel. Our mission "To conserve the fighting strength" is adopted to ensure that the operational demands of the Commanders are always met. The challenges faced by Military Health Commanders are to be ever ready in providing safe, cost effective and quality medical care with the limited resources available in this dynamic geo-political climate of the 21st century.
Battlefield healthcare is complex and multi-dimensional, supporting symmetric and assymetric warfare environments. Apart from these warfare scenarios, most military medical services have to also provide field health services in Military Operations Other Than War such as during natural disasters, conflicts and outbreak of infectious disease.
Over the years, evolution in technology has changed the way the Armed Forces engage in battle. As a result, it is critical that the military medical services are able to adapt and deliver the appropriate medical response on the battlefront. Apart from the conventional factors that continuously reshape the military environment, terrorism as well as CBRNe warfare is a new paradigm that poses tremendous challenges in delivering healthcare needs.
Thus, the Battlefield Healthcare feature comprising the display of relevant products as well as the CBRNe Forum have provided invaluable insights into the latest in medical equipment and technology to effectively address emergency medical needs in combat situations as well as catering for Humanitarian Assitance and Disaster Relief needs.
As always, we very much look forward to being updated on the latest products and technology and the opportunity for interaction with our counterparts in the region during the coming DSA 2012.
